Macy’s Department Store

I think Macy’s shoppers are illiterate, I walked into the bathroom today, the men’s bathroom, conveniently located in the ladies underwear section and there were six women standing there. Three at the sinks and hand-dryers three waiting to use them.

One who was waiting looks at me and says “can I help you!?”
I say, “this is the men’s bathroom.”
She retorts, “why would this be a men’s bathroom? it’s located in ladies underwear!”
So i says, “The sign outside says ‘men’ and there are urinals right there.” *points*
She says, “Really?”

One lady starts to laugh, two others follow her lead, one freaks and gets the hell out of the bathroom and the last just kept to herself (deaf?). I waited till they left so i could use the facilities.

88 Days

I’m writing a book based in the time period of the late 12th century. It’s a story of a girl who becomes cursed and has to revive the dead to build the dark lord an army to survive. Oh, but she gets help along the way, mostly from an unexpected source.

I’ll post more on it as time goes, but for now, that’s all you get!

OTEP

I went to the Otep show on Friday night in New Hampshire. It was fucking Incredible! I’m new to Otep, but my home girl Sara from the QHS is an addict and a half when it comes to Otep, so I joined her and “the Twins” Andrew and Matt to go see Otep.

By the time we arrived at Mark’s Place, which was a bar/club, we had missed the first band, but were in time for the second band. They had a good musical idea, but EVERY single guitar line from their songs ended with a guitar-whine or slide-down, which was pretty damn annoying if you ask me.

The third band insert name here was from Cape Cod, they were pretty awesome and had a good sound to them, but I couldn’t understand anything the singer was saying, he was more or less over-screaming.

The Forth Band Rocked my effing socks. Halo Burn. They were very good and they know how to get a crowd going. They weren’t anything that is like “OH MY GOD YOU HAVE TO SEE THESE GUYS!” but they sure as hell know how to get a crowd to go insane.

Fifth Band of the night was Genuflect. They were a hardcore band with rap vocals, but they made it work. The song “Dark as Night” was great, very catchy, and one of the LAST things you’d expect to hear from a band at the show to play.

Last Band of the Night, the Money Band, Otep. Otep was incredible beyond all belief, and it all started before they even played their set. Evil J, their bassist, was having problems with his sound equipment. He has a road crew, the bar has sound guys, but no, he’s out there on his hands and knees fixing the problem him self, mad respect for that.

It was a long wait until they played, because of the setting up the stage, sound problems, and of course getting into costume for the crowd, but once they got on stage, it was heaven. The orgasmic sounds that came from the bass, the chills running down your spine from the screams and pounding drums, the cry of the guitar, and the crowd six inches from the stage just going INSANE.

There were probably only 250 at the event and everyone was going insane! It was the greatest show ever! Shamaya got the crowd going on every last song, her voice was incredible, the drums hit you straight in he chest, the guitars were clean, and Evil J and his finger tapping goodness bit your face off. It was the greatest possible concert experience you could ever ask for!

Between every song was a small interlude, all of them had meaning and all of them were great. Shamaya was just incredible when it came down to the interludes, she really pulled the crowd in. Evil J played some of the most melodic bass lines in the background to all of them, but I felt bad because his fretless was on the fritz, but he still made them sound incredible.

I’m still in awe and amazement at Evil J’s skill. He is quite possibly the greatest metal bassists on the planet. His technique is incredible, he plays clean, and he has the presence of Satan on stage, he is one HUGE, evil looking dude. Their new song “Ghost Flowers” has one of the most orgasmic bass lines I’ve ever heard and he plays it better live than he does on the album/video.

Otep was Amazing, Shamaya, Evil J, Brian, Karma, you guys are fucking incredible.
